PICK6 Flag Football Socal has a Zero Tolerance Policy against Abuse
When does registration open?
SPRING registration opens on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 and will close at midnight on Sunday, February 16th 2025.
We highly encourage all families with youth (boys & girls) interested in playing to sign up soon.
Every season, we get calls after registration closes – so Don’t wait!
When does the season start?
Season starts on FRIDAY, APRIL 4TH, 2025
What division should I register my child in? (COED):
* 4U - (ages: 3-4)
* 6U - (ages: 5-6)
* 8U - (ages: 7-8)
* 10U - (ages: 9-10)
* 12U - (ages: 11-12)
* 14U - (ages: 13-14) A player can play at 14 years, but only if he/she is in 8th grade. Players must not be in a grade higher than 8th grade.
***PLAYERS AGE ON AUGUST 1ST, 2024 WILL BE THE PLAYING AGE FOR THE LEAGUE!
ALL GIRLS divisions:
* NEW 12U - (ages: 11-12)
* 14U - (ages: 13-14)
* High school (9th - 11th grade)
*Subject to change based on the number of sign ups
Divisions are determined by age and not by size. Please note that the age will be confirmed by providing the players BIRTH CERTIFICATE during the registration process. Refunds will not be provided for any disqualification from play due to falsified information.
For example, if your child turns 9 on August 15th, he/she will still be eligible to play in 8U, since he/she was 8 on August 1st. However, if your child turns 9 on July 31st, he/she will play in 10U. Kids can also “play up” a division to play with friends. A child may NOT “play down” no matter the circumstance.

Are Birth Certificates required?
Birth Certificates will be required to show proof of players age. You will not be able to complete the registration process without uploading the birth certificate. There will be no exceptions! This instantly creates a better safety-net since participants are more likely to be of similar size and physical abilities than if they are of the same grade.
If registration has closed, can I still register my child?
Yes, if space is available. There will be a $35 late fee added to the registration cost. If jersey's have been ordered, an expedited shipping cost for the jersey and flag will apply. Please contact us for more details at [email protected].
How are rosters created?
Rosters will be created within a week of registration ending. Teams are created by age, coach/friend request, school affiliations, geographic location or randomly placed by the league. Teams generally carry between 8-10 kids, subject to the coach’s discretion, and numbers enrolled. Smaller teams are preferred, but with kids playing multiple sports, teams need to make sure they can afford to miss a player or two.
Do you allow Coach and Friend Request?
Yes, if your child wishes to be on a specific coach or friend, please mention it in the "Coach or Friend" requests section on the registration form. Please note: once teams have been formed we will not be able to rearrange players to accommodate any late request. Every effort will be given to accommodate a Coach/Friend request but REQUEST ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
What jersey size should I order?
We encourage parents to order at least 1 size up, as kids may grow from the time you register to the time we place the jersey order.
NFL Flag will not accept returns or exchanges. Please make sure to order the right size. If a jersey is to be re-ordered due to a parent ordering the wrong size, the re-order fee is $55 plus shipping and handling.
I just registered for the upcoming season, what happens next?
You will receive a confirmation from the league. You should hear from the league or coach at least 3-4 weeks prior to the start of the season advising you of practice location, date, and time.
How safe is PICK6 Flag Football SoCal?
While no athletic league can guarantee any amount of safety because players movements can be unpredictable, our league is as non-contact and is safe as a game of tag, and many would say it has less injuries than soccer. Flag football is mainly about strategy, and some of our most successful players have developed agility and speed over brawn. Our league is geared toward player safety and most of our coaches have experience with full contact football so they know how to train the players to play the game safely. In an effort to further our safety standards, we have partnered with GameBreaker to obtain headgear (soft helmets) for those who are looking for extra protection. Headgear is not required to play but can be purchased at https://gamebreaker.com/shop/pick6ffsc/. Players are also covered with a $1,000,000 general liability insurance policy when they register with PICK6.
What is a Team Sponsorship:
Our league does not require candy/raffles/car washes as some leagues; instead, we require a company Sponsorship to help offset the costs to parents. The registration fees for PICK6 does not cover all of the costs to participate, and this is where the Team Sponsorship picks up. Many employers participate in local sponsorships, so if any additional information is requested for PICK6, feel free to contact us at: [email protected]. All Sponsorships to the league are non-refundable.
What is the Team Sponsorship used for?
Items like team medals/trophies, playoff/championship fees and equipment incidentals are purchased with Sponsorship monies, so these funds are critical to the performance of the league. This fee DOES NOT cover the jerseys.
How much is the Team Sponsorship?
Currently, each team (not player) has a minimum $155 Sponsorship requirement. As compared to other local leagues, our requirement is significantly lower. Some leagues require a $250+ per team sponsorship. Teams will not be issued jerseys until the sponsorship form is completed and all sponsorship money turned in.
How does my team go about getting this Team Sponsorship?
Gaining sponsorship can be as easy as visiting a local establishment that you frequent and asking them to fund your teams’ requirement. Some parents work at companies that also sponsor; please check with your Human Resources department. Generally speaking, companies like sponsorships because they receive a tax deduction. The registration cost to join our league does not cover all expenses, so sharing this expense with a sponsor .is also a good way to keep costs down, and free up time for busy families from having to pay a higher registration fee, or doing candy/raffle sales. If at anytime, an establishment needs something in written form about PICK6, please contact us at: [email protected].
Can I "buy-out" of the Team Sponsorship?
If your team does not want to get the Team Sponsorship, your team can unanimously decide to buy-out. The requirement must be equally divided among parents, and paid by the due date -- check with your coach for this date. Remember, everyone on your team must agree to this.
Are there any perks for coaching?
Yes, coaches will receive the below:
1. Will pick the day, time, and location for practice
2. Pick NFL Team Name & Jersey's (if available)
3. Coaches meeting with commissioners to review rules, practice tips, etc.
4. Usages of the Mojo app: Team group chats, practice/game schedule and Game Day live streaming.
5. It's exciting, fulfilling, and gives you the opportunity to teach skills to a new generation of players.
WEATHER:
Will games still be played if it rains -- hard? In most cases, games will still be played during light rain. If it begins to rain "hard", the league may deem it a safety concern, and may cancel the game(s). When in doubt, feel free to contact us at (424) 241-0437.
If a game is canceled due to weather or other unforeseeable circumstances, all efforts will be made to reschedule that game. However, due to time restraints and/or field usage conflicts, some games may not be made up. It will be the decision of the League Administration when and if the games are made up. Special circumstances may be taken into consideration.
PRACTICE:
Generally, teams practice once a week, for 1 to 2 hours – depending on the team, age group and coach. Location will be selected by the coach based on participant location. Teams will start practicing in early March.
SCHEDULE:
Games are on Friday evenings at 4:45pm and 5:30pm for 4U/6U; 4:45pm and 6:20pm for Coed 8U - 14U & All Girls 12-14U and High School. Teams begin practicing in March. The season schedule will be posted online once field space is completely confirmed, which unfortunately isn’t generally until a week or so before the season starts.
GAME LOCATION / TIMES:
Games are played at Field of Dreams 501 Westmont Dr., San Pedro/Los Angeles, CA 90731
Photos:
I know some leagues will have a photographer come out to take photos/video for marketing purposes, is this the case with your league? Yes, from time to time we will have a company send out a photographer to take photos and/or video tape our league for marketing purposes.
See disclaimer below:
